The Josone Park, A Must See For Your Cuba Holidays

If you are one of those vacationers who prefer to practice ecological tourism, one of the most rewarding experiences is to visit the Josone Park. Located on 1rst Avenue and 56, Varadero, this paradise is approximately of 9 hectares large. The Josone Park is certainly a great botanical garden possessing a varied nature, with different species of violets.

This entire peaceful environment owes its origin to a couple who in 1942 dreamed of creating a site to be a symbol of their love and passion. The land on which today stands the park are not reflected in the original plan submitted to the City of Cardenas, Matanzas, for the founding of the city of Varadero, a fact that occurred on September 5, 1887.

However, it is known that these lands were part of the Varadero Hacienda, owned by Bernardo Carrillo de Albornoz, later inherited by his descendants.

But back to the idyllic story which gave rise to this wonderful garden, and that without a second thought, its going to be of your total satisfaction for your . The Josone Park was the idea of the couple formed by Onelia Mendez and Jose Iturrioz.

This marriage baptized this park with the name Josone as a result of the union of the first letters of their names: Jos and One.

The park has inside a lagoon called Laguna de la Paz, located near the center of the property. The lagoon formerly was more extensive than today.

The Josone Park is the largest green space in Varadero, where the natural, historical, architectural, cultural, floristic and ornithological coexist. This botanical garden opens its doors to visitors from 9:00 am to 11:00 pm, and offers nautical services, recreation, swimming pool, restaurants, bars, and craft sales, as well as services for events, and dinners.

Also, visitors can find five restaurants, specializing in Creole and international cuisine, and rental rowboats to get around the lagoon. It also gives tourists the chance to appreciate different types of birds, or simply sit under the shadow of the trees to pass an exquisite moment in the middle of the park and with the best sea of the world a few steps away.

Each year, the park is visited by about 500 000 tourists, indicating the benefits of this paradise. Camping in The Aconcagua Provincial Park

In the Aconcagua Provincial Park we can find the highest mountains in America and in the Western Hemisphere. At That Place, trekking activities sum more and more fans every day, especially those who visit Mendoza and stay at the 5 Stars Hotel. If you are one of those nature lovers, then do not hesitate to choose this region of the Andean Mountain Range for outdoors hiking.

From November 15th, the date on which the entrance to the park is enabled, and until March 31 next year, lots of activities are carried out in the Aconcagua Provincial Park. Not only for sports activities to seek the summit ends of the Stone Sentinel (Mount Aconcagua), but also to assist tourists and fans from around the world to visit this place.

One detail to take into acount is that the services are mostly offered by the same companies that assure the infrastructure necessary for the access to the top of the hill, and they include trips from the city, meals, tents, and some of the equipment essential for adventure tourism. The permit to enter the provincial park must be managed personally at the city of Mendoza and is non-transferable.

In the park we will find a great variety of proposals, which are different in the number of days of sightseeing. The hottest is hiking up to the glaciers of Plaza Francia (France Square), which is a three-day trip. The walks take approximately 4 to 6 hours.

This excursion begins with the arrival at Horcones, where we will start walking down the gorge of the river to Confluencia (Confluence). The second level of the trip is after breakfast, as we depart from to Plaza Francia, and the third day we go back down from Confluencia to Horcones, and from there to the city of Mendoza.

People who practice trekking, unlike the professionals, require to know precisely which items to carry, especially because we regret everything that we take and we do not use. That is why the recommended equipment should involve an igloo tent, a sleeping bag, an insulating mat and a comfortable backpack with a minimum volume of 70 liters. A gas heater is also necessary, with 1 or 2 additional charges. Besides, we may need a torch, sunglasses, sunscreen, a waterproof jacket, hiking boots, a hat and gloves to protect ourselves from the sun, the cold and the rain. As you can see, the forest is not exactly a Mendozas 5 Stars Hotel.

Hemis National Park, Ladakh, Jammu &kashmir ,india- Snow Leopard Country

The feeling of being in snow leopard country was amazing. We were in the land of Buddha in High altitude Hemis National Park in Ladakh area of J&K State. Two hours back we sought the blessings of god at Hemis monastery for our successful journey. Since then we were trekking in the cold virgin territory of National park. Hemis is one of few protected forests where trekking is allowed, Our guide assured me of bharal, Ibex sightings and said if luck helps us, snow leopard sighting may be possible. But it is difficult in summers. I spotted a herd of bharal hanging precariously on a cliff. Though at a distan,I zoomed on the animals & caught them in my camera satisfactorily. The overall milieu was soothing and the ambience was heavenly.
We started walking towards our proposed campsite & pitched our tents. The muscles of our bodies were over-stressed and we tried to relax our body & mind. Our guide cooked our supper & soon afterwards we were in deep sleep.
Hemis NP was established in 1981 & covers an area of 3350 Sq Kms. Its area is dotted with villages with total population of about 780 people. Its territory is a difficult place to live.It lies in trans-Himalayan part of India & three astonishingly beautiful lakes of Ladakh-Tsomoriri, Pangong tso, Tso Kar lie near to this park. These lakes are inhabited by numerous rare bird species. One can visit these lakes while on a visit to Hemis.Hemis NP has four entry points namely- Martselang, Chilling, Stok & Zingchan. Trekking is the only way to visit this park. One can trek in this park to markha valley, spituk, Rumbak. These valleys are tough ones as one has to cross high altitude passes. Places worth visit near park is Hemis Gompa. A two days Hemis festivals is held in summers. Concept of home stay was introduced in the park area so one can stay in a village house & can feel the socio-cultural life of local people. The cost of stay is fairly reasonable. This park can be visited for snow leopards, great Tibetan sheep,Tibetan antelope, serow & rare high altitude birds.
Best time to visit the park is mid- June to Mid- October but best wildlife sightings are in winter.
